Just over a week ago, 2GB radio personality Alan Jones, made some rather unfortunate, no, rephrasing that, extremely hurtful comments, about Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s late father’s death. There has been an absolute, and appropriate, uproar against Jones over this incident, and it prompted him to hold a press conference yesterday where he apologised for his comments. Nevertheless, the political reaction to this whole incident is quite controversial, and this wasn’t more obvious than on Channel 9’s Today show this morning.

Over the past week or two, I’ve noticed an ad on TV featuring George Takei, or Star Trek fame, saying “Oh my!” about a new television from Sharp.  It has a yellow sub-pixel in addition to the standard red, green, and blue.  According to Sharp, it makes the pictures look brighter, with true yellows.  But is it really any benefit when watching TV?  Is George going crazy over this TV because it really does look better, or is it because it’s closer to his rainbow coloured ideal?

I’ve been a reader of Paul Thurrott’s SuperSite for Windows for the past 7 years.  When I was a Windows user, I enjoyed reading the latest about the new releases of Windows that were coming up, and as a Mac user, I still continued to read those articles with interest.  But, also as a Mac user, I found that his negativity about Mac OS X has a bit more bias than fact in it (worse than JCD, but not as bad as Mary-Jo Foley who has no facts at all).  Before I go further, Paul isn’t a total Apple hater – he likes his iPhone and does have a Mac.
